6–10 min4–24 playersU8–U18Description
Players pair up facing each other about 10 yards apart and progress through a passing sequence: two-touch, one-touch, inside foot, outside foot, then move to driven passes. Simple but effective for building rhythm before a session.
Setup
Pairs of players facing each other, 8-10 yards apart. One ball per pair. Spread out across the field with enough spacing between pairs.
Coaching Points
- +Lock the ankle and follow through toward target
- +Open body shape to receive — do not be square on
- +Cushion the ball with first touch into space for the next pass
- +Weight of pass matters — firm enough to reach, soft enough to control
Progressions
- 1.Increase distance to 15-20 yards for driven passes
- 2.Add movement — receive, take a touch to the side, pass back
- 3.One player plays bouncing ball for partner to control and return
