1. Information We Collect

MatchdayIQ ("the Service") collects the following types of information:

  • Account information: Name and email address provided during sign-up via our authentication provider (Clerk)
  • Team and player data: Team names, player names, jersey numbers, preferred positions, and optional player photos that you enter into the Service
  • Game data: Scores, substitutions, playing time, game events (goals, assists, cards), and AI-generated analysis
  • Usage data: Anonymous analytics about how you interact with the Service, collected via PostHog

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service, including live game tracking and spectator views
  • Generate AI-powered post-game analysis and coaching insights
  • Improve the Service based on usage patterns
  • Communicate with you about Service updates

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

  • Live spectator view: When you share a game link, game data (score, lineup, events) is visible to anyone with the link. No account information is shared in the spectator view.
  • Service providers: We use third-party services to operate MatchdayIQ (see Section 9). These providers access data only as needed to perform their functions.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Game data and statistics are kept to provide historical analysis and season-over-season comparisons. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

5. Children's Privacy

MatchdayIQ is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The Service is designed for use by coaches, parents, and guardians who are at least 13 years old.

Player data (names, jersey numbers, playing statistics) is entered and managed by authorized adult coaches, not by the players themselves. This data is used solely for game management and coaching purposes.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@matchdayiq.com.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export your game data and statistics

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@matchdayiq.com.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication via Clerk, and row-level security policies in our database to ensure coaches can only access their own team data.

8. Third-Party Services

MatchdayIQ relies on the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Clerk — Authentication and user management
  • Supabase — Database, real-time data sync, and file storage
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI-powered game analysis
  • PostHog — Anonymous product analytics

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
