Choosing a Formation

MatchdayIQ includes over 35 formations across three game sizes — 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11. Each formation is designed for youth soccer with age-appropriate positioning. Whether you're running a 2-3-1 for your U10 team or a 4-3-3 for U16, you can browse and select from the complete formation library.

Assigning Players

Once you've picked a formation, assigning players is fast. Tap a player on the bench and they slot into the next empty position on the field. Tap a player on the field to send them back to the bench. Need to fill out the lineup quickly? Hit the auto-fill button and MatchdayIQ matches players to positions using their preferred position first, then secondary positions, then fills any remaining slots with available players.

Managing Availability

Not every player makes it to every game. Before building your lineup, you can mark players as unavailable so they don't appear in the bench list. This prevents you from accidentally assigning someone who isn't there and keeps your rotation math accurate.

Your lineup feeds directly into the game day screen. Starting players appear on the field, bench players are ready to sub in, and everything is wired up for the clock, substitution tracking, and post-game AI analysis. No re-entering data, no copy-paste, no second screen.
