Description

Practice 3-4 set corner kick routines with specific player movements, runs, and delivery targets. Includes near post flick, far post delivery, short corner, and a decoy run variation. Gives players clear roles and assignments for match situations.

Setup

Full goal with GK. Set up at one corner. Assign roles: near post runner, far post runner, penalty spot target, decoy runner, edge-of-box player. The taker delivers from the corner flag. Walk through each routine 3 times before going live.

Coaching Points

  • +Delivery: aim for an area, not a specific head — between the 6-yard box and penalty spot
  • +Runners: time your run to arrive with the ball, not stand and wait for it
  • +Near post runner: attack the space aggressively, flick with the head
  • +Far post: hold your position until the ball is in the air, then attack it
  • +Everyone have a designated starting position and ending position

Progressions

  1. 1.Add 3-4 passive defenders to simulate marking
  2. 2.Make defenders active — full match-speed corner defense
  3. 3.Practice short corner variations with a wall pass before delivery
  4. 4.Alternate left and right corner routines
