Players pair up and pass the ball back and forth while light-jogging around the perimeter of the field. Gradually reduces heart rate while maintaining ball involvement. Finish with walking and gentle static stretches.
Setup
Players pair up with one ball per pair. They jog slowly around the field perimeter (or a marked 50x30 yard area) passing back and forth. After 3-4 minutes of jogging, transition to walking for 2 minutes, then gather in a circle for stretches.
Coaching Points
- +Keep the pace easy — this is recovery, not training
- +Smooth, controlled passes while moving
- +Breathe deeply and steadily — in through the nose, out through the mouth
- +Use this time to chat about the session — what went well, what to work on
