Description
Players spread out with a ball each and practice juggling at their own pace, counting their personal best consecutive touches. This low-intensity activity brings the heart rate down gradually while developing soft touch, coordination, and concentration. Coaches can circulate to offer individual tips on technique while players set and chase personal records.
Setup
Players spread out across the field with at least 3 yards of space between them. Each player has a ball. No cones or goals needed. Players juggle individually, counting their record. Coach circulates and offers technique tips.
Coaching Points
- +Use a soft, cushioned touch with a slightly locked ankle — let the ball drop onto the foot
- +Keep your eyes on the bottom of the ball and stay balanced on the standing leg
- +Start with one juggle and catch, then two and catch, building gradually — consistency over quantity
- +Use the thigh and head as well as the feet to develop all-round comfort with the ball in the air
Progressions
- 1.Set challenges: alternate feet only, thigh-foot-thigh-foot pattern, or weak foot only
- 2.Partner juggling — keep the ball alive between two players without it touching the ground
- 3.Add gentle static stretching between juggling attempts to cool down further
