Game Import: Add Past Games from Notes, CSV, or Excel

Switching from another app? Starting mid-season? Game import lets you bring in past games so your stats, playing time records, and season data are complete from day one.

Three Import Methods

From Written Notes

Paste your game notes in any format — the AI reads them and extracts the score, lineup, substitutions, goals, assists, cards, and playing time. Just write like you normally would: "Beat River FC 3-1, Jake scored twice, Maya got a yellow in the second half."

From CSV

Upload a CSV file with your game data. MatchdayIQ maps columns automatically and shows you a preview before importing. Great for bulk imports from spreadsheets.

From Excel Template

Download a pre-formatted Excel template with your roster already filled in. Enter the game details and upload — the most structured option for detailed imports.

What Gets Imported

  • +Score and opponent
  • +Starting lineup and formation
  • +Substitutions with timestamps
  • +Goals, assists, and cards
  • +Playing time per player
  • +Date and location

Review Before Saving

After parsing, you see a full review screen with every detail the AI extracted. Fix anything that looks off, match players to your roster, and confirm. Nothing is saved until you approve.

Works with Season Stats

Imported games count toward season totals — playing time, goals, assists, and more. They show up in report cards, the AI analysis, and player profiles just like games tracked live.
